Goal

Roger was a Robot developed at the Proaut lab for the teaching of Robotic Games . It should replace the old P3DX robots for which no replacement parts could be ordered. The robot was designed to be cheap and easy to assemble.

Contribution

I was involved in implementing higher-level functionality such as odometry, collision avoidance, and position control.

Results

Although the basic functionality of the robot was implemented it was still not very reliable. The project was then scrapped when we got the funds to buy a set of turtlebot 3 burgers. I now use the robot as a teaching platform for the robotics practical where students can familiarize themselves with embedded development as it relates to robotics. They can implement their own odometry calculations, sonar sensor readout or collision avoidance
